NASA and SpaceX are targeting the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launch for August 30 aboard a Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A.
Roman's infrared camera offers a field of view 100 times larger than Hubble's, enabling sweeping surveys while traveling to the L2 Lagrange point approximately one million miles from Earth.
The five-year primary mission will investigate dark energy, dark matter, and exoplanets, with all science data becoming publicly available after processing, according to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
